2011-12 Miss Indian Arizona Jaymee Li Moore

Miss Indian Arizona 2012 CourtJaymee is a Mohave, Chemehuevi, Hopi member of the Colorado River Indian Tribes in Parker, Arizona.

She is the 21 year old daughter of Lynette Stevens and Jonathan Moore. Her great grandfather was the former Thomas Stevens who was recognized as the traditional Chief of the Mohave people of the Colorado River Indian Reservation. Today, his son, Milton Stevens, Jaymee’s grandfather, is recognized as the traditional Chief. Jaymee is working towards her Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and Applied Indigenous Studies with an emphasis in Policy Administration at Northern Arizona University.

Besides attending classes, working part time at the Coconino County Treasurers Office, Jaymee, as Miss Indian Arizona, will also be keep busy traveling to many Arizona reservations promoting her platform “Youth  Leadership Through Higher Education.”

1st Attendant Martha Ludlow Martinez, from the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community in Scottsdale, AZ is the 20 year old daughter of Timoteo and Kathy Martinez.  She is attending Scottsdale Community College where her area of study is Pharmacy. Much of Martha’s interests involve music and cultural history. Martha states, “We have to balance the past and the present so we can strive for a better tomorrow for ourselves and all those around us.”

Edith Renee Starr, 2nd attendant, is a member of the San Carlos Apache Tribes and is the daughter of Alvin Sr. and Carol Cooley. She enjoys beading, promoting cultural diversity and is an advocate against violence.
